The Tritt Book Club meets every Thursday after school and is open to all 4th and 5th graders. They read books from the Georgia Children’s’ Book Award List and create questions to quiz each other on the books. The students will be competing in the Cobb County Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl against other Cobb County Elementary Schools in January.
The Tritt Broadcast Club meets every Monday after school and is open to fifth graders. They are in charge of managing the morning announcements for the week. They create the script after researching the Tritt important upcoming events, weather, sports, lunch, birthdays, and national days. They also have the opportunity to create video openers for the announcements as well as videos promoting Tritt activities.
Coaches Blick and Wilson work with 4th and 5th grade students to solve complex problems, develop quantitative reasoning, collaborate, and have fun. We meet on Thursdays. Each month, we participate in Math Olympiad’s online competition. The four teammates with the highest Math Olympiad scores represent our team at the Cobb County Intermediate Math Tournament.
Science Olympiad is an American team competition in which students compete in 'events' pertaining to various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering.
Sponsored by Courtney Pascual, Charis Swift, and Melody Swierski, the yearbook club engages 4th and 5th grade students in every aspect of production. From marketing to photography to writing copy, students will work together to produce this yearly snapshot of life at Tritt Elementary.
