Dr. Patterson was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in a small town in Ohio. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1998 with a BA in Journalism and went on to Otterbein College to earn a BA in Education (Pre-K-8). She moved to Georgia in 2000 and worked as a teacher in Forsyth County for three years before coming to Tritt in 2003 as a third grade teacher. She earned her Master’s degree in Education Leadership from Kennesaw State University and Specialist degree in Education Administration and Leadership from Berry College. Dr. Patterson was promoted to Assistant Principal in November of 2009 and Principal in July of 2014. She completed her doctorate degree from the University of Alabama in Education Policy and Leadership in August of 2015. Dr. Patterson lives in the area with her husband, Bart, and two children: Ella – 11 and Cooper – 9.
This is Mr. Casey’s first year at Tritt Elementary! After teaching 5th grade for 8 years at Rocky Mount Elementary, Mr. Casey became an assistant principal at Hightower Trail Middle (just down the road!!). He loved his time at Hightower Trail but is excited to return back to elementary school. Mr. Casey has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University (2007), a Master’s Degree from Troy University in Instructional Technology (2009), and a Specialist Degree in Leadership from Berry College (2012). Mr. Casey is a Lassiter High School graduate and LOVES Cobb County. He and his wife, Ashley, recently purchased a home just down the road from where he grew up! He is excited about getting to know all of the Tritt families this year!
Mrs. Keesling was born and raised in the Atlanta area. She attended Emory University and graduated in 1991 with a BA in Psychology. Immediately upon graduation she attended Georgia State University and earned her Master’s degree in Special Education (K-8). She taught special education at Dolvin Elementary in Fulton County for five years prior to spending eight years at home raising her two children. In 2005, she began teaching at Tritt Elementary. While here, she has taught special education, 2nd grade, and 5th grade. In 2014, she was promoted to Assistant Principal. She completed her Specialist degree in Education Administration and Leadership from Berry College in December of 2015. Mrs. Keesling has lived in the Tritt community for 12 years with her husband, Scott, and two children: Griffin (18) and Molly (16).
Mrs. Ashley Renz
Mrs. Renz was born in Greenville, South Carolina and grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina. She attended the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio where she earned a B.A. in psychology. After college, she moved to the Atlanta area and worked for several years in a private psychiatric hospital for children. Ms. Renz earned her Master’s degree in education from Georgia State University in 1997, and this will be her 19th year as an employee of the Cobb County School District. She has taught special education students in grades K-7 as well as served as a special education lead teacher for nine years. She was promoted to the Support and Services Administrator position in 2014 and is beginning her second year at Tritt Elementary. Mrs. Renz lives in Atlanta with her husband, Rich, and she has two sons, Ryne-26 and Jeremy-22 who both live and work in Florida.
